On Thursday, February 6, 2020, Deborah Fallows will moderate a panel on Capitol Hill titled Rural America’s Hidden Jail Crises. Co-sponsored by the Vera Institute of Justice and U.S. Representatives Alma Adams, Joe Kennedy, Terri Sewell, and David Trone, an expert panel will discuss how incarceration and the criminalization of substance use, mental health, and poverty have created a deepening crisis in our nation’s smallest communities.

The free event runs from 12:00 noon – 1:30 p.m. in the Capitol Visitor Center, Congressional Meeting Room-North, (CVC 268).
