Let's Stay Together

In her November 9, 2020 editorial, Shelley Smith of the The Tullahoma News reflects on Jim and Deb Fallows’s No. 1 sign that communities, large or small, are working well: divisive national politics seem a distant concern. According to Smith, “if the Fallows are right, then we are going to be just fine.”

She goes on to report that in the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Innovation Academy, the greater Tullahoma area’s pitch for an innovative, transformative, and bankable strategy to benefit their community ranked 3rd among all the competing teams in the TVA’s seven southeastern state service area. Smith says the nearly year-long Innovation Academy journey wasn’t always easy and they didn’t come up short when identifying the number of challenges their community is facing. But, she finishes, “You can’t fix something until you know it needs fixing.”
