In his October 28, 2018 column, Patrick Woodie, president of the N.C. Rural Center, profiled the Fallowses Our Towns travels and their findings that, “despite the national narrative about economically declining communities and political polarization, ‘the basic resilient capacity of the country hasn’t been extinguished.’ ”
Woodie reports that the Rural Center found the same situation in the year they spent visiting leaders in the 80 rural counties they serve. These themes will be further discussed at the upcoming N.C. Rural Assembly, to be held Nov. 15 and 16.
The Fallowses will keynote the conference.
