WDTN TV’s BJ Bethel summarized a recent Ohio State University/Carnegie Endowment for Peace report with 10 takeaways. Number 10, “Microbreweries = Healthy City” was taken from the Our Towns list of 11 signs a city was succeeding or going to succeed. Bethel quotes Jim Fallows, “One final marker, perhaps the most reliable: A city on the way back will have one or more craft breweries, and probably some small distilleries too.”

As of now, Dayton has 17 microbreweries according to Google’s search engine.
