Orville Schell, now the Arthur Ross Director of the Center on US-China Relations at the Asia Society, is a long-time reporter, author, and scholar. For many years he was Dean of the Journalism School at the University of California, Berkeley. His most recent book is the acclaimed novel about modern China, My Old Home, published in 2021. In March, 2022, he launched the Coal + Ice exhibit at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., dramatizing the worldwide effects of climate change.
